The Accountability Round Table (ART) is looking to engage an Executive Officer for the equivalent of 2 days a week (on average), whose role will be to assist the Board of Directors in meeting ART’s objectives of:

  • making governments and their agencies accountable to all Australians
  • ensuring government decision-making is free from influence by vested interests
  • making Parliament work more effectively and openly.

The Executive Officer will assist directors and members in:

  • research and development of ART’s policy positions
  • preparation and delivery of submissions to Government and Parliamentary inquiries
  • conduct of conferences, workshops, guest lectures and special events
  • publicity for ART activities through the website and social media
  • activities to engage members in the policy and advocacy work of ART
  • fund-raising initiatives.

They will also provide administrative assistance to the Board and any Board committees and working groups. In all these matters they will support the voluntary work done by directors and other members.

They will report to the Chair of ART, or with the agreement of the Chair to another nominated member of the Executive Committee.

The Executive Officer would normally work from home, and be conversant with the normal office and communications software.

A contract for services of up to two years would be available in the first instance, at $50,000 for each year. Continuation would depend both on the value of the services provided and the availability of funds.
