On 23 March 2015, ART sought from the Greens clarification of its position in relation to the final issues raised in its original commitment request letter of 25 February 2015, namely those concerning the public trust principle.  The following response was received  from the  Greens on 23 March 2015;

The Greens acknowledge that public office is held as a public trust, and that this principle underpins the accountability of all democratic governments.

Please include the commitment that The Greens would seek to enshrine in legislation not only the principle that public office is a public trust, but that the holders of public office must in exercising the powers entrusted to them, give priority to the public interest over any other interest.”
