The Hon Dr Ken Coghill’s article in The Conversation shows how a properly functioning IBAC (Independent Broad-based Anti corruption Commission) could have saved Premier Napthine the embarrassment of the Geoff Shaw saga, and discusses Napthine’s latest move to expel him not because of his apology in Parliament but because of what he said about it outside Parliament.

“Victorian premier Denis Napthine has tabled a motion that would expel independent MP Geoff Shaw from parliament merely for the apparent insincerity of his apology rather than his reprehensible misuse of parliamentary resources. However, Napthine should not take Shaw’s bait; he should show more maturity than over-reacting to provocation.”
